Climate change

Climate change - do you know what this is?

Is the rise in temperatures from winter to summer a sign of climate change? No, the climate varies naturally from summer to winter and from country to country.

Climate change refers to the state where, in a given area, the climate changes over a number of years. This is normally seen over a period of 30 years however, changes in temperature, precipitation, sun and wind may happen sooner.

Man-made climate change refers to changes that are the result of our greenhouse gas emissions. At international level, the UN Climate Panel (IPCC) assesses whether climate change can be ascribed to human activities.

The causes of climate change are being discussed at all levels.
