Wave power

Wave power is a renewable energy which is expected to play a significant role in the production of electricity in the future. However, we need to maintain focus on continuously developing wave power technology.

Wave power plants convert nature’s forces to electricity, just as wind turbines do. Wave power is generated from the wind, and it is difficult to anticipate when and how much will be available when planning electricity production.

In Denmark, our primary focus has been on developing plants located in the ocean and close to the coast that can capture the energy of ocean surface waves. Tidal power plants are not regarded as relevant in Denmark.
