Electronic equipment

Good electricity habits are the way towards lower electricity bills and a better climate. By far the majority of families can cut their electricity consumption by 10 per cent without compromising comfort. For example they can save up to DKK 1,000 on their electricity bills over the lifetime of a computer, if they choose an energy-efficient model.

Reduce energy consumption when your electrical devices are not being used. Turn off at the plug or use energy-saving extension sockets so you only have to switch off one switch. Many, especially older, appliances have high standby consumption.  This applies not least for IT equipment, TVs, and other media equipment.

Energy labelling electronic equipment makes it possible to choose the most energy-efficient appliances. There are many labelling schemes, such as the European Flower scheme and the Nordic Swan scheme.
